This painting depicts Rose Tu, Rama’s sister, when, unbeknownst to anyone, she was pregnant with the young Samudra.
I had drawn Rose on the Earth and blocked it out before we gave the canvas to Rama to paint. Masterfully, as ever, he centered his strokes on the spinning Earth. Amazing.
